With the arrival of spring comes the promise of warmer temperatures, longer days, and a new season of tours at Deer Haven Park.
Deer Haven Park will be offering Auto Tours again this year, every Saturday in 2021 from April 17 through October 30. The 8-mile journey will go deep into the former Seneca Army Depot and uncover some of the mysteries of the historic munition storage base.

Mobile home residents across Iowa met through Zoom to raise their voice about the unfair situations they have faced in the past years. Candi Evans of Golfview Mobile Home Park in North Liberty said the way the law is now, she fears eviction.
Mobile home residents are encouraging Iowa lawmakers to approve a bill that would offer them more protections from some rent increases and evictions by mobile home park owners.
Under the bill, mobile home residents would be protected from some forms of eviction and rent increases.
It lists specific grounds for when a tenant can legally be evicted. It also limits the number of times a park owner can institute rent increases, among other changes that restore basic fairness for residents.

Show Transcript NEW THIS MORNING, MOBILE HOME OWNERS ARE ASKING IOWA LAWMAKERS TO PASS A BILL THEY SAY WOULD BETTER PROTECT THEM FROM SOME OUT OF STATE PARK OWNERS. THIS COMES NEARLY TWO YEARS AFTER THAT SURPRISE RENT HIKE IN WAUKEE. IN 2019, THE PARK WAS PURCHASED AND THEY IMMEDIATELY RAISE THE RATE THE RENT 69%. THERE ARE SIMILAR RENT INCREASES AND OTHER MOBILE HOME PARKS.
