NORTH BRANFORD, CT A North Branford teen is doing his part to get a shot of hope in the arms of as many people as possible.
Luke Izzo, a 16-year-old who attends New Haven Academy, has been booking coronavirus vaccine appointments for those in need of the shot.
Izzo estimated he s scheduled at least 150 appointments as of Sunday, both through independent community outreach and in his work as a moderator for the Facebook group New York/Connecticut Vaccine Hunters and Angels.

How to Get an Appointment for a COVID-19 Vaccine in Connecticut
By phone: Call Connecticut’s Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877-918-2224, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for scheduling at select sites.
Fill out the form to let the Department of Public health know you are interested in creating an account in VAMS. If you are currently eligible to receive the vaccine then you should receive an email from VAMS to complete your registration within 12 hours. Click here to create an account.
Check for an email from no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov. Click on the link in the email and create your account. You will be prompted to retrieve a code that will be emailed to you. You will need to create a password and store it in a safe place.

No school in the district has escaped a positive case or quarantine with East Haven High School and East Haven Academy among the hardest hit. (Shutterstock)
EAST HAVEN, CT As of the morning on the last day of school for East Haven kids before the holiday break, a discouraging note on the number of COVID-19 cases reported so far this term.
To date, there are 94 positive cases with 131 students and teachers in quarantine.
No school in the district has escaped a positive case or quarantine with East Haven High School and East Haven Academy among the hardest hit.
