AUSTIN Texas electors unanimously cast their 38 votes for Donald Trump on Tuesday, formally continuing the Republicans 40-year winning streak in presidential elections even as Democrat Joe Biden was on his way to a national electoral college victory.
The meeting of the electors in the chamber of the Texas House erupted in applause when the slate s chairman, conservative activist and writer Matthew Springer announced the results.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday rejected a lawsuit backed by Missouri’s attorney general that challenged election results in swing states critical to President Donald Trump’s defeat last month, likely sealing his political fate.
In a brief order, the court said the lawsuit out of Texas failed to demonstrate “a judicially cognizable interest” in how the swing states run their elections and dismissed all other claims as moot.
The lawsuit had accused Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin of illegally expanding absentee voting amid the pandemic in a way that made their results susceptible to fraud.
