A woman died this week after a house fire in Bethesda, according to a Montgomery County Fire & Rescue official.
About 50 firefighters responded to a call for a house fire on Hatherleigh Drive at 9:53 p.m. on Tuesday, Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Mike Leigh told Bethesda Beat on Friday.
A woman was rescued from the fire and taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, he said.
The woman has been identified as Joanne Bergman Tyrrell, Montgomery County police spokesman Carlos Cortes-Vazquez wrote in an email to Bethesda Beat on Friday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
