Conference stresses need for research agenda for humanitarian work

Doha: The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) concluded the conference on “Relationship Between Scientific Research and the Qatari Humanitarian Sector”.
The panelists stressed on the need for a research agenda for humanitarian and charitable work during the conference which was organised in cooperation with the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies.
The event aimed at exchanging expertise and experiences on ways to optimise the use of scientific research in order to develop the efforts of humanitarian organisations.
A number of prominent experts and specialists in the humanitarian sector as well as executive heads and directors of departments of Qatari charities, foundations and organisations in the State of Qatar participated in the conference.

The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), in collaboration with the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, will organise a conference entitled ‘The relationship between scientific research and the Qatari humanitarian sector’.
The event aims at exchanging expertise and experiences on ways to optimise the use of scientific research in order to develop the efforts of humanitarian organisations and increase their effectiveness and to draw a road map to determine the relationship between scientific research and the Qatari humanitarian sector, said a press release.
It will also help work jointly towards setting priorities for scientific research in the field of humanitarian action in the State of Qatar and encourage the relevant authorities to support and sponsor scientific research in the field of humanitarian action in the State of Qatar.
