recall election. larry elder the republican broadcaster is the front-runner to take over should newsom lose his job. even if he doesn t though, there s a lot of talk about elder s political future. tell us more there. well, larry elder played a key role that often goes unacknowledged in the rise of trumpism nationally. he mentored some of trump s key accolades including stephen miller which i wrote about in my book hate mongerer. he mentored him from the time he was a teenager. he also had an impact on andrew breitbart and alex marlow who is the editor in chief of breitbart, and played a role in the 2016 election of trump. larry elder told me himself that he believes that because he is a black man who is espousing these beliefs that appeal to largely white audiences, that he s given
these are lies and lies based in racial intolerance and it s wrong. max, i want you to weigh in here because this is the definition of a demagogue here. in your view, who does that sound like? there s no question i don t know how you can dispute that. donald trump is demagogue, a hate mongerer and really bring fascism to america. i compare him to people like george wallace and lester maddux. but remember george wallace and lester maddux, they did not become president. unless you go back to somebody like andrew johnson who i think has been cited as our most racist previous president. this is really unprecedented. and it s not just the racism but the vilification of opposition saying they hate america, they want to destroy america. these are things we ve not heard from previous presidents.
on fox, no affiliation or views of any of these issues, it s undeniable that trump is the most pro lgbt republican president to hold the office. the relevant judgment, i ll underscore, but it is true. so the folks want to say he s a hate mongerer and anti-lgbt, is that a characterization they re going to have to let go of? part of the problem is pence is in the picture an a lot of gay men i know have like attached trump to pence. where i don t think trump really cares about it all that much. it s on pence s plate. it somehow got put on trump s plate. i don t think trump feels that way at all. his mentor was a gay man. maybe not the best representative of a gay man, roy cohen, but i don t think trump really cares that much about it. i do feel that trump feels that i believe what he says about pete. i don t believe that trump is
out there. we ve got to do this. you can t let them take away our weapons. i have to say, he keeps trying to stir fear in this. that s what he was doing this morning. at what point is he overstoking? well you know, you inform with logic, you persuade with emotion. that s a cardinal rule of advertising. it s a cardinal rule of communication, i think he understands communication, and i think he also gets he s selling the end product of instead of selling the process, and we try to get a lot to do that. does he always do it in the right manner? always in the most delicate manner? and in campaign i produced, we try to tell the compliants, talk about the effect on the average person. don t tell us about how and how he s done that, if you look at just all of his problems in the last ten days, they re all caused by this. right. this inability because chuck you still have candidate ump. we haven t seen president trump yet, and that s what candite trump did. he stoked fire
