MIDDLEBURG A former Susquehanna University student has received a county prison term for indecently assaulting her roommate in Hassinger Hall on campus the day after the May 2019 commencement.
Pratigya Thakur, 21, of the Bronx, N.Y., was sentenced Wednesday in Snyder County court on two counts of indecent assault to which she had pleaded guilty in November.
Lycoming County Senior Judge Dudley N. Anderson gave her 3 to 24 months minus a day, followed by 90 days of probation on one count and a concurrent 18 months’ probation on the other.
Thakur, who must register as a sex offender for 25 years, can be released from prison after serving the minimum if New York State agrees to assume her supervision.
