Prosecutors say a Utica trio was behind several shootings in the city as a mother sought revenge for the death of her son.
In late December, police arrested two 20-year-old Utica residents, Jalil D. Pacheco and Isaiah A. Moore, in the death of Quaheim Holland.
Holland, also a 20-year-old Utica resident, was found dead from a gunshot wound last January behind a barn in Whitestown, officials reported.
Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said investigators believe he was killed during a robbery and brought with his vehicle from Utica to the snow-covered field along Westmoreland Road. Two nonfatal shootings occurred within days after his death, including at a vigil in Utica in honor of Holland.
