Abuja, Feb. 18, 2021 The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N640.310 billion to the three tiers of government for January.
Mr Hassan Dodo, the Director of Information, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, said this was made known in a communique issued at the end of virtual conference of FAAC on Thursday.
The committee in its communique explained that the amount shared by the Federal Government, States and Local Government Areas (LGAs) included cost of collection to different agencies involved.
It noted that N640.310 billion shared included cost of collection to Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The Federal Government, States and Local Government Councils (LGCs) have shared N619.343 billion as federation allocation for December, 2020.

The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee on Wednesday at its virtual meeting shared a total sum of N619.343bn as federation allocation for the month of December 2020 to the three tiers of government.
From this amount, the Federal Government received N218.297bn; states received N178.28bn; Local Government councils got N131.792bn; while the oil-producing states received N31.827bn as 13 per cent derivation of mineral revenue.
A statement issued in Abuja by the spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hassan Dodo, also stated that the cost of collection/transfer and refunds got N59.147bn.
The federal government has disbursed N123.348bn in performance-based grants to eligible states under the World Bank supported states fiscal transparency, accountability and sustainability (SFTAS) programme for results.
