An evening of peaceful protesting for a free Palestine ended with the Maghrib prayer outside the Israeli consulate Tuesday in southwest Houston.
Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets during the protest before the daily prayer – despite Houston police s best efforts to keep them contained.
The march started as a rally outside the Israeli consulate in Greenway Plaza, organized by the Houston chapters of the Palestinian American Culture Center and Palestinian Youth Movement. Protesters wanted to make their position known, saying that the United States backs a genocidal state by giving billions of dollars in aid to Israel.
