Washoe Reports Lowest New Daily Cases On Tuesday Since Mid-June
New daily COVID-19 cases have been declining in Washoe.
Over the last two weeks, there have been an average of 81 additional cases per day. The number of cases reported on Tuesday was below that average. There were only 13 cases reported, which is the lowest since June 17.
There were also four additional deaths reported in Washoe on Tuesday.
Statewide, there have been an average of about 700 new daily cases over the last two weeks and 16 deaths daily during that same period.

More Than 40,000 Vaccines Administered In Washoe County
Nevada has surpassed 276,000 cases of COVID-19 and there have been 4,218 deaths related to the virus in the state since the start of the pandemic. The average number of new daily cases over the past two weeks is down to 1,055.
In Washoe County, health officials are reporting two additional COVID-19 deaths on Friday, bringing the death toll to nearly 600. There are nearly 180 new cases.
More than 40,000 vaccines have been administered in Washoe by various organizations, including the Washoe County Health District and Renown.

Texas Has Administered 1.3 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses
AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today held a roundtable discussion alongside healthcare professionals at Houston Methodist Hospital to highlight his legislative priorities to ensure a healthier future for the state of Texas. Following the roundtable, the Governor provided an update on the State’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts. The Governor was joined by Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) Chief Nim Kidd, Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Commissioner John Hellerstedt, MD, Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs of the University of Texas System John Zerwas, MD, and Houston Methodist President and CEO Marc Boom, MD.
