More than 10,000 tablets are yet to be distributed among government school students of classes X to XII in the district due to non-activation of SIM cards.
Faridabad, March 16
At present, at least 90 government schools in the district do not have regular principals and head teachers resulting in administrative and teaching issues.
While 40 head-less schools are of senior secondary, high and middle level, at present, around 50 primary level schools are also functioning with proper head teachers.
The district has around 340 schools. Sources in the Education Department claim that vacancies at this level have been an issue of concern as the jobs or duties of the principal or head teacher have been assigned to other teaching staff. Additional engagements have made the teachers skip the classroom teaching resulting in an adverse impact on students performance. “The target of getting 80 per cent result (pass percentage) in high and senior secondary levels in the near future is unlikely to be achieved in the given situation,’’ says a teacher on condition of anonymity.
