The HC said that the Chandigarh Administration is also required to look at what facilities it should provide to the large number of peoples – around 30,000 – who visit the premises on a working day.
HC says the state government is the biggest litigant in such a scenario; asserts that in majority of cases it has been noticed that the employment is continuing for even more than 20-30 years.
The petitioner said that three out of six members of the search-cum-selection committee that recommended names for the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences V-C post were ineligible to participate in the committee meetings.
“Ordinarily this court would not be inclined to summon officers, however, considering that there are nearly 50 such cases/applications in pending cases filed by advocates claiming their fee and evasive response by the summoned junior officer, there is hardly any option left to explore,” the order states.
In a case titled Sandeep V. Suman, Justice HS Madaan dismissed a revision plea filed by the husband, who was a professional beggar, against an order directing him to pay maintenance to his wife.
