Early on he spoke about how he grew up in a family of democrats until he got to college. He said he didnt fit in with the College Democrats at the time so a friend invited him to a College Republicans meeting. And the speaker that night was a state representative named Chuck Grassley. So the first republican meeting i went to Chuck Grassley was the speaker and ive been an active republican ever since.
