UK Report on Jobs published earlier this month showed. Despite this, retail was the only sector to register a further month-on-month decline in vacancies.
“[Retail has] been weak for much of the past two years, but demand for staff has taken a particularly severe hit since the pandemic struck, along with hospitality,” said Annabel Fiddes, associate director for economic indices at financial services firm IHS Markit, which compiled the research. “It was indeed the only sector to record falling vacancies during March, with even hospitality showing signs of recovery.”
