Providing physical and emotional support to women during pregnancy, a doula is a role traditionally filled by women, but a local non-profit is training men to be doulas too.
The rate at which women – particularly Black and Hispanic women - die while pregnant, during or soon after childbirth in the U.S. was a concern even before the pandemic.
"We see that as a top of the iceberg of poor health in women and poor health in Black women," Dr. Henning Tiemeier told "Face the Nation."
