Mysterious, gigantic floating head terrorizes Tokyo
The head caused a buzz among the city dwellers on their morning work commute, making it go viral with even NHK news covering it. The head ended up being a contribution of art collective, Masayume, to promote the Tokyo Tokyo festival, an art event.
Inspired by member Haruka Kojin, who had a nightmare of the floating head back when she was in junior high school. She stated on her creation: “A gigantic face of an existing someone floating up in the sky of Tokyo, on the occasion of human’s largest gathering once in four years. Such devastating scene would allow us to reexamine the unbelievable yet realistic experience of our existence in this huge world. The face floating up in the sky would be nobody special; it could be me or you.”
