Atiku said Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, would be sorely missed by Nigerians.
In a tweet, the former Vice President described the deceased as an accomplished civil servant, astute politician and patriot.
He wrote: “I am grieved by the death of former Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Aisha Alhassan. I asked about her condition this afternoon after I called her number without a response! Inna lillahi wainna Ilaihi Rajiun!
“May Allah forgive her sins and grant her Aljannah Fiddausi in this holy month. Ameen.
“Mama Taraba as she was popularly known, was an accomplished civil servant, astute politician and patriot. She was compassionate, loyal and deeply committed to a better Nigeria.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Garba Danbatta, on Friday, April 30, 2021, led a high-powered delegation of the Commission to condole with the Emirs of Kano and Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero respectively over the demise of their mother, late Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero, Mai Babban Dakin Kano.
Danbatta, who also submitted two letters of condolence, one on behalf of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Ali Isa Ibrahim Pantami and the other on behalf of the Management and Board of the Commission, stressed that the delegation was in Kano at the behest of the Minister.

IDEA ’04 defines an assistive technology service as “any service that directly assists a child with a disability in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device.” The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta in his welcome address, stressed the need to assist both the physically challenged and security agencies on the use of assistive technology. Represented by the Director, New Media and Information Security, NCC, Dr. Haru Alhassan, Danbatta said, AT was necessary to address unmet needs.
