Winter Garden commissioners ban heavy trucks along the two-lane Marsh Road after residents’ voiced concerns about safety and destruction of the pavement. But neighboring Clermont doesn't like it.
Sean Parks did not attempt to pave over a looming pothole.
No one needs Parks, the chairman of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, to tell him how much Clermont has grown in a relatively short period of time. That rapid rise in population has roads overflowing with cars, leading to drivers stuck with nowhere to go in several high-traffic areas. That tapping of the brakes has Clermont and other cities in south Lake playing from behind.
The clock is ticking. We easily have over $100 million of roads to catch up on, Parks said. That’s not an exaggeration.
