MORGAN CO., Ala. (WAFF) - More than 700 educators in Morgan County have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Decatur-Morgan Parkway campus vaccine clinic. Teachers are lining up this week to receive their second dose.
âTo get the vaccine just lets me know that weâre gonna be able to keep doing what weâre supposed to be doing and thatâs working hard for children and children can come and be safe and learn,â said first grade teacher Emily Morrow.

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A brush fire at a landfill has been sending smoke billowing over Hartselle for weeks.
City officials say the fire is burning deep within the brush pile, so water alone cannot put out the fire.
People who live nearby say they are not happy about the smell, or the smoke.

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A brush pile that consists of limbs, pieces of trees, small brush and other miscellaneous items spontaneously combusted at a landfill in Hartselle on February 13, said city officials.
According to council members, Hartselle Public Works and Hartselle Fire & Rescue began limiting the exposure of the fire and are working countless hours to extinguish the combustion.
Officials said an Alabama Department of Environmental Management representative has been on site and offered suggestions and both Public Works and Hartselle Fire have been following the recommendations to solve the issue. With the burning beginning internally, the temperature has been extremely high, and caution and safety must be practiced by both Public Works employees as well as Hartselle Fire personnel.
