LEEDS based house builder, Chartford Homes, has acquired a prime development site in Burley-in-Wharfedale that will form a key part of the transformation of the historic Greenholme Mills site into a residential scheme. The 1.5-acre site was marketed by Dacres Commercial, on behalf of development company, MMR Estates and has planning permission for 20, three and four bedroom, homes as well as six contemporary apartments. Chartford Homes now plans to start work on the development immediately. Greenholme Mills operated as a successful textile mill from 1790 until 1967, and its location next to the River Wharfe made it the largest water-powered mill in England.
