Hartford parents are presenting a child safety plan to Black and brown communities to prevent disproportionate rates of child welfare cases for families of color in Connecticut.
FOX61 investigated and discovered in 2015 the city of Hartford sued chemical company Monsanto for the cost to remove PCBs from the Clark Elementary School.
“The pantry is a logical step because it doesn’t just service the students, but also services the families and it helps ease the burden that a lot of students experience,” said Flora Padro, who has been the principal at Hartford Public for the past 18 months.
An audit by school officials into alleged mismanaged funds at Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy done in 2022 by the Hartford Public Schools finance department concluded the school’s fund was mismanaged overall.
