The tree which was planted in memory of Eira Bowden A TREE planted in memory of a Hartford parish councillor was snapped in two in what is believed to be an act of vandalism. The tribute was planted in Grange Park in Hartford to remember Eira Bowden who died in February 2019. A bench was also installed nearby for Eira’s family to sit and remember her. Eira had a keen interest in the village community and served as a member of Hartford Parish Council from 2009 until ill health forced her to resign in 2017. She was instrumental in the development of the play area at Grange Park, one of the many contributions she made to the village community during her time on the parish council.
AN eggs-cellent donation to families in need is among the gifts to the Hartford community from house builder Redrow. An Easter egg was added to food parcels delivered to vulnerable families, while counselling for young people, first responders, flood alleviation measures, school library books, playground equipment and sports teams are also among the cracking good causes to receive support from Redrow’s Hartford Community Fund. The homebuilder has shared £5,000 via the latest fund, linked to new homes being built at Weaver Park and Water’s Reach. It brings Redrow’s voluntary support for projects in and around Hartford to more than £25,000 over the last few years.
