Residents of Sahakarnagar II have questioned the
Pune Municipal Corporation (
PMC) collecting taxes from them when it does not give any civic amenities in return. They have said that issues of garbage collection, pending monsoon works, illegal tree cutting and delayed electricity tasks have increased their daily struggles.
The residents asserted they have raised questions and put up issues before the civic body only after trying to resolve it at their end. They have cleared a lot of piled up garbage themselves. They also pointed out how there are several vehicles abandoned in their area which have not been removed despite repeated requests and follow-ups. Sahakarnagar is a prime location and has been part of the municipal corporation ever since its formation.
