Apr 28, 2021 WILBERT A memorial service for Velmer J. Meier, 95, of Wilbert, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minn. Burial will follow the service in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, with full military honors by the Nassen-Detert American Legion Post 529 and Welcome American Legion Post 553. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert. Velmer passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his home near Wilbert. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements. Velmer J. Meier was born Feb. 23, 1926, on the family farm in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, Minn., the son of William and Clara (Leiding) Meier. In 1929, the family moved to a farm near Wilbert that he called home for the rest of his life. Velmer attended parochial school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Wilbert. He was baptized March 14, 1926, and
