May 29—The Niagara County Department of Health has expanded all second-dose clinics in the month of June to include free single dose Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older. LOCKPORT, N.Y. Following approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, the Niagara County and Erie County health departments are expanding their clinics to allow registration for people 12 years of age and older.
“Now that federal and state officials have authorized the Pfizer vaccine for children as young as 12, it is important for parents and caregivers to take advantage of this expanded access to the free vaccine for their children before next school year,” Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel J. Stapleton said in a release.
