the bankrupt city only has four animal control officers responsible for covering 139 square miles. the shelters are overflowing with strays and the animals are suffering in the streets. a problem himted in videos like this. there are 50,000 dogs running loose in this city. people move out, they leave their dogs behind. when it gets cold, they turn them loose. they ve taken over abandoned houses, factories, businesses, and the streets. the city doesn t want people to know there s a stray dog problem. but there is a big problem. it is a big problem. joining us now is harry ward, the head of animal control in detroit. one of only three animal shelters in the entire city. good morning, harry. good morning. do you just feel overwhelmed? well, you could feel
