Large kitchen knife. Reporter the man was shot here by officers responding from a call from a Homeless Outreach team, man with a knife. The knife had a 10 to 12inch played. Reporter police say they shot bean bags at the man but he kept charging. Two officers, one of them a sergeant, fired. We have it i peers four extended casings from the bean bag and seven casings. Reporter seven bullet casings. The man was rushed to the hospital. All he did was play with his soccer ball. Reporter stephanie and john knew the man as jose. They were outside their tent when officers arrived and they say they saw everything. The knife was up on his hip the whole time. He didnt have no knife in his hand when the officers was around him. Reporter he says he saw bean bags hitting jose first. He was going in circles, and thats when the sergeant pulled his gun out and opened fire on him. Reporter the couple says the knife was tucked in his belt. He fell and thats when the knife fell out. And he hit the ground.
