Seattle rolls Triage One plan that would other responders to distress call instead of cops

In the immediate days following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, there were calls in Seattle and other cities to rethink how police officers are deployed to respond to emergency calls moving forward.
The calls for change took root locally and the Seattle City Council voted to move the municipal 911 dispatch center away from the purview of the Seattle Police Department and place it under the auspices of the new civilian-led Community Safety and Communications Center.
