Mudbugs win in shootout, clinch South Division title

The Shreveport Mudbugs (37-10-6) rallied from a late two-goal deficit to knock off the Amarillo Bulls, 5-4 in the shootout and clinch the South Division’s top spot Friday night at George’s Pond in Hirsch Coliseum. The Bugs got off to a great start as Braiden Dorfman won the face-off draw from the RW circle and slid the puck across to Billy Feczko who buried his 14th tally of the season to give Shreveport the early 1-0 lead at 5:30 of the 1st period. It was the only goal of the period as both teams had their chances and the SOG were 15-10 in favor of the home team.

The new face of recruitment

The new face of recruitment Adam Bernstein Thursday, April 29, 2021 The adoption of technology is relentless, but businesses – and that technology – still need people. Whether it’s for management, the shop floor, accounts or deliveries, people make the world go around as much as money. But the world of recruitment has changed. No longer can organisations hire using the ‘warm body’ approach, where someone is employed because they happen to be in the right place at the right time. Now, more than ever, firms in a time of heightened competition and a global pandemic, need to be very selective. A changed landscape

Area fire departments take part in recruitment weekend Area fire departments take part in recruitment weekend By Brendan Straub | April 24, 2021 at 5:26 PM EDT - Updated April 24 at 6:11 PM DEFERIET, N.Y. (WWNY) - “We only have 4 people that are within close enough time to get a truck out the door within the 2 minute allotted state time,” said Richard Montroy. It’s a problem that Montroy, a volunteer firefighter for the Deferiet Fire department, says his department deals with daily. Montroy says the department has 15 volunteers that live within a 10 mile radius of the station but they are trying to bring that number up.
