Camden Hills boys lacrosse team relieved to be back in action after hiatus

Thursday, April 18, 2019 ROCKPORT  The Camden Hills varsity boys lacrosse team is excited to be back on the field this spring after missing the 2020 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Despite it being two years since the Windjammers fielded a lacrosse team, 30 players have turned out this season.  “We are really looking forward to a lacrosse season here at Camden Hills after missing last year,” said Camden Hills head coach Harrison Rogers. In 2019, Camden Hills had a very young team with seven of its 10 starters being underclassmen, including three freshmen and four sophomores. The Windjammers, back then, began its season with only one win in its first six games before capping the season with five wins its final seven contests.

Thursday, April 18, 2019 ROCKPORT  The Camden Hills varsity boys lacrosse team opened the season Tuesday, April 20 exactly how it wanted to  with a victory  though the Windjammers were certainly challenged during its quest for a season-opening victory in Rockport.  In a battle of a contest against Brewer, the host Windjammers earned itself a 13-10 victory to kick the season off with a 1-0 record.  Shining for Camden Hills in the season opener were Levi Guay (three goals, four assists), Willy Doehla (four goals, one assist), Charlie Griebel (two goals, one assist, five ground balls), Nolan Delehey (goal, five ground balls, won 15 of 21 faceoffs), Jackson Fitch (two goals, two assists, seven ground balls), Eben Fagonde (goal), Noah Quesnel (assist, three ground balls), Rory Carlson (seven ground balls) and Elias Libby (seven ground balls).
