good morning i m kristen sze. i m eric thomas. a tough commute. drivers confronting slick roads, winds and downed trees. amy is live at the scene of one in oakland. reporter: the wood chipper just arrived they are making good progress. they ve managed to shut everything over to the far left lane ran clear that right lane some cars are slowly being able to allow to drive on the right lane and get on to 580. you can see what they were dealing with. they had a big tree they had to clear out. came down blocking both lanes 580 east on-ramp at coolidge avenue. crews say good timing not many out now they are trying to get it cleared before the morning commute starts to pick up. this rain has caused a lot of problems in the north bay. we have pictures from the wine country, a big oak tree came down on a house, standing water on the roads there some were able to drive through even though officials tell us not to, some did get stuck this is just the first day. problems like this
