Judge McCarthy
On Thursday, Harrison Circuit Judge Chris McCarthy became the latest judge locally to postpone a trial, citing the virus as good cause.
McCarthyâs ruling came over the objection of defense attorney Tom Dyer and his client, Roosevelt James Bradford, 37, of Columbus, Ohio.
Harrison Assistant Prosecutor Brad Pustolski had requested the continuance.
Pustolski cited high infection rates for COVID-19 in the region and the state, as well as record deaths.
He also noted that at least 30 prospective jurors would have to be brought to court, along with 12 to 20 witnesses.
Some of those witnesses â experts â also could be coming from trials in other parts of the state, Pustolski noted.
