Mercy High School Launches Podcast

UpdatedSat, Jan 23, 2021 at 9:13 am ET Reply Students at Mercy High School in Middletown, joined by their school s president, have launched a podcast to connect students with alumnae and the community, while providing a hands-on opportunity for students to take on the role of journalists, learning interviewing skills and technical aspects of producing audio programs. The podcast, Tiger Talk, has already produced a half-dozen episodes since it launched just weeks ago; all available on the Mercy High School website. Individuals can also subscribe on multiple platforms, including iTunes, Google Play, SoundCloud, Stitcher and Spotify. Students from 50 cities and towns throughout Connecticut attend Mercy High School, a Catholic diocesan college preparatory all-girls high school; members of the school s Broadcast Journalism Club are taking the lead in developing the podcast.

On Friday morning, the Will County Forest Preserve District announced that Matt Pehle has now been placed on administrative leave. According to his LinkedIn profile, Pehle was the director of finance at the Joliet Park District from April 2013 until he left in December 2019. In January 2020, Pehle became the chief financial officer for the Will County Forest Preserve District. At that time, Pehle replaced John Gerl as chief financial officer after Gerl retired from the forest preserve.

UPDATE: At 7 p.m. Friday, the health department announced that all slots for both events have been filled. Future events are expected to be announced soon. Thank you to everyone who signed up for the Jan. 26 and 28 COVID-19 vaccination clinics. We saw a huge response, and spots for both clinics are now full. We know demand is high for vaccine, but supplies remain limited. When more clinics are announced, they will be open to the public, although only to residents who are eligible to receive the vaccine under the state s distribution plan, and require that residents set up an appointment to get their shots.
