Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra closed out the City's Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Celebration with a concert at Church of Love Faith Center, followed by a performance by the Bach Children’s Chorus.. The event was free and open to the public.
The Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Celebration: Her Legacy Continues Keynote Lecture by Rita Daniels, Tubman's descendant The Frederick and Anna Murray Douglass Lecture Series, hosted by the RIT Department of History and the Museum Studies Program, in partnership with the Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Celebration will feature a talk by Rita Daniels, “Harriet Tubman: Her Legacy Continues.” Daniels is a descendant of Tubman and founder of the Harriet Tubman Learning Center in Powder Springs, GA, which promotes youth literacy.
The Harriet Tubman bicentennial celebration continues in Rochester, unveiling the Harriet Tubman "Journey to Freedom" sculpture this Friday at Washington Square Park.
