Jan. 20 (UPI) Heads of state from across the globe gave their well-wishes to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday after they were sworn in at the U.S. Capitol.
Boris Johnson, the prime minister of Britain, one of the United States closest allies, congratulated Biden and Harris on Twitter.
And for many people, she’ll be the first vice president who looks like them.
When Riya Amin was growing up, she said she was the only Indian girl in her elementary school. Her parents emigrated from India and moved to Cleveland before she was born.
It was hard to understand at that age why she didn’t look like other girls, or why she was the only vegetarian. At the time, she said there wasn’t as much cultural understanding.
“It was pretty difficult for me growing up,” said Amin, 26, who now lives in Northfield. “It’s made me a little stronger now.”

Instead of giving tours she s now making gift baskets, and who better to create one for than Vice President-elect Harris?
