They will do anything to get it back, including slapping a child in the face, getting dressed as a dog, or killing a parakeet. For a start.
Mother Schmuckers is surprising, of course. This insolent and explosive feature debut, overflowing with irreverent energy and with a real taste for provocation, represents a cinema with a true punk and DIY spirit, where each scene challenges what came before it in terms of provocation and bad taste. Knowing that the film opens with a delirious scene of coprophagia should give a tasty idea of what comes next. It also invites the viewer to accept that they will be mistreated a little.

SYNOPSIS:
Issachar and Zabulon, two brothers in their twenties, are supremely stupid and never bored, as madness is part of their daily lives. When they lose their mother’s beloved dog, they have 24 hours to find it – or she will kick them out.
It’s tough to imagine a more divisive film coming out of this year’s Sundance than the feature debut of Belgian filmmaker brothers Lenny and Harpo Guit. Setting the tone in an opening scene where our protagonists fry a hunk of feces and take a bite out of it before their mother literally vomits the movie’s title on the screen,

Posted Jan 11, 2021 Philly D.A., a documentary about Larry Krasner, Philadelphia’s district attorney, will be screened in Birmingham on Feb. 2, 2021, at the Sidewalk Cinema and Sidewalk Starlite Pop-Up Drive-In. The screenings are part of the Sidewalk lineup as a satellite venue for the Sundance Film Festival.(PBS)

The Sidewalk Film Festival has announced the lineup of movies that will screen in Birmingham as part of the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Fifteen films will be presented, Jan. 28-Feb. 3, at the Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema, 1821 Second Ave. North, and the Sidewalk Starlite Pop-Up Drive-In, 1801 First Ave. North.
