I read with amusement and incredulity a Feb. 11 letter to the editor (“Take seriously Trump’s threat to democracy,” Star-Advertiser) where the writer warned everybody not to minimize the threat posed by Donald Trump.
Letter-writer Harold Nakagawa’s treatise on erosion is so wrong, I can’t believe he thinks it’s a complex issue (“Start tackling beach erosion on North Shore,” Star-Advertiser, Jan. 17).
Our beaches are important to tourists and locals alike. The state owns all beaches except those on Niihau. With ownership comes the responsibility to protect this precious resource.
A letter writer agreed with a previous writer that carpet bombing during the Vietnam War is similar to what Israel is doing in Gaza today (“Carpet bombing leads to needless deaths,” Star-Advertiser, Dec. 4).
