With Gov. Mark Gordonâs public health orders meant to slow the spread of COVID-19 set to expire, a departing Wyoming Republican lawmaker is organizing a protest at the Wyoming State Capitol on Monday to urge those orders not be renewed, though infection numbers have fallen off since the orders took effect.
Outgoing Rep. Scott Clem, R-Gillette, plans to march on the Wyoming State Capitol at noon Monday to âpeaceably assemble and protest the tyranny of our Wyoming State Governor,â he said Monday in a Facebook post, claiming that Gordon views Wyoming residents as âsubjects to be controlled by big brother.â
ROCK SPRINGS During the Rock Springs City Council meeting tonight, residents voiced opposition against the recent COVID-19 Coronavirus public health orders put into place and other actions that have taken place since then.
Resident Justin Hilton claims Governor Mark Gordon and Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo bypassed the constitution with the recent public health orders.
Hilton also called for the resignation of Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo and Rock Springs Police Chief Dwane Pacheco for arresting Harold Bjork for expressing his first amendment rights at a recent protest.

“Chief Pacheco stomped on the constitution as he saw fit by letting a man be arrested for speaking his mind,” Hilton reinforced.
ROCK SPRINGS â Rock Springs Police Chief Dwane Pacheco said he and his officers have had multiple friendly conversations about the health orders that are in place and other safety restrictions related to the coronavirus. On Saturday, he said a similarly cordial exchange started at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center when multiple people showed up without masks, which have been required in all city facilities since May. However, the tone and volume of one of the protestors grew more extreme, and one man was arrested for alleged verbal disturbance of the peace, but not for not wearing a mask.
Saturdayâs confrontation included Pacheco, Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo, Harold Bjork, a handful of other protestors, rec center staff, officers of the Rock Springs Police Department, and Sweetwater County sheriffâs deputies.
