This storm has been affected so much by the steering currents in the upper levels of the atmosphere and sometimes, its cut and dried. But in this case, there has been a lot of moving parts, and we are trying to figure out which one will affect us, and even now, the track of the storm has shifted and in this case, potentially shifting back closer to North Carolina. This is a look at the the storm, and we get a new track update at the top of the hour and little has changed, moving northeast at 14 Miles Per Hour and coming past Cape Canaveral with reports of 107 wind gusts, 101 Miles Per Hour for the wind gusts in Cape Canaveral and strong winds stretching across a good bit of florida. Landfall but wind gusts at 107, 101 Miles Per Hour and we are not seeing the winds in Daytona Beach gusting quite that high, 60, 65, 70 Miles Per Hour there. Well take a look at where the storm is. It will continue to track up the coast of florida. Its looking ragged there on the satellite, and well show you the radar picture coming up. You can see the circulation pretty well there. The forecast track has shifted closer to wilmington. Ill zoom in on that in a couple of minutes. The radar, the center of circulation is filling in a bit, an indication that its weakening, but tell brush the coast with heavy rain and strong winds in florida. Morning hours for us. What is the latest on the hurricane . No major changes from last night. We are mainly going to see some very heavy rain and high wind gusts as matthew continues to approach the coast of North Carolina. Right now it is doing serious damage along the georgia and South Carolina coast right now. Highest wind gusts are about 125 miles an hour. Just off the coast of the georgia South Carolina line there. And this is what we are going to be watching very closely. Because some of these high wind gusts may push something we need to be on the lookout for today. Heavy rain. Potential flood problems on the way. For this afternoon. And this evening. Especially you can see some of those heavier showers pushing through parts of the area right now. We can expect this repeated heavy rain throughout the entire day today. So we are not going to get much relief from that rain that we will be seeing as matthew continues to cruise up along the coast.
