After all the doom and gloom of last autumn, when the (entirely justified) writers’ and actors’ strikes looked set to blow a hole in the 2024 awards season, normal service has been resumed. Well, sort of the hangover from those strikes will mean some slow weeks in the early part of the year as delayed productions race to wrap. But there will be the Oscars, at which many of the prestige awards are going to be hard to call. And who knows, there may even be a few Irish winners.
