Name of Driver in Fatal Stutsman County Crash Released

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the driver who died following a one-vehicle rollover crash near Medina on Sunday afternoon. 61-year old Harlan Vining of Jamestown died as a result of his injuries when the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving rolled in a ditch off I-94 in Stutsman County near mile marker 231.  Vining partially entered the median of I-94 as the trailer began to fishtail, then overcorrected, and entered the North ditch as he was traveling on I-94 causing the vehicle to overturn.  The road was wet and contained scattered ice during the time of the accident.  Vining was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 61-year-old Harlan Vining was driving west on I-94 before 1:30 Sunday afternoon when he began to fishtail. Vining over corrected and went into the ditch His truck rolled and he was ejected. Vining was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The highway patrol reports that the road was wet and had scattered ice at the time.
