The board of senior doctors of the GMCH examined Kumar on February 20 and concluded that he suffered at least four fractures, broken toenail beds, and showed symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

In the bail plea, filed through her counsel, R. S. Cheema, Arshdeep Singh Cheema and Harinder Deep Singh Bains, Nodeep Kaur had stated that she was falsely implicated in an FIR lodged under various sections, including attempt to murder, assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty and other offences under Sections 148, 149, 332, 353, 186, 384, 379-b, 307. The court had directed a medical examination in a plea by Kumar’s father, Rajbir, which accused the police of illegally detaining the activist on 16 January, when he was participating in the farmers’ protests in the state’s Sonipat city.
