As of July 11, Maharashtra received 227.3mm rain against the normal of 314.2mm that the state is expected to receive this time of the year. Fifteen districts in the state have received rainfall between 50-75 per cent while six districts have received the normal quantum or even surplus rainfall.
Along with rice, the coverage area of many other Kharif crops, especially oilseeds, has decreased compared to last year, the Agriculture Ministry's latest weekly area coverage data shows.
