Bahuda Yatra Homebound journey of Holy Trinity begins in Puri

The chariot pulling for the return journey popularly known as ‘Bahuda Yatra‘ started here ahead of time. The chariot pulling was originally scheduled to be held at 4:00 pm. However, it began at about 12.40pm. Lord Balabhadra’s chariot was first to be pulled following which chariots of Goddess Subhadra and Lord Jagannath’s chariots proceeded towards the Srimandir amid religious fervour. All three chariots reached Srimandir at about 6pm. Earlier, the Holy Trinity including Lord Sudarshan were taken out of the inner sanctum of Gundicha temple in ‘Dhadi Pahandi’ and were placed on their respective chariots. After that, Puri king Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb performed ‘Chhera Panhara’ – a unique ritual of the king sweeping the chariots with a golden broom with silver spokes. Then, amidst chants of ‘Hari Bol’ and sounds of gongs and conch, the chariots started rolling on the Grand Road – also known as Bada Danda.

Kolhan keeps it low key, avoids rush | Ranchi News

JAMSHEDPUR: For the second consecutive year, devotees witnessed muted Rath Yatra celebrations in different parts of the Kolhan division on Monday. Keeping the Covid-19 pandemic in mind, organising committees observed the rituals in a low-key manner in the presence of only a handful of festive enthusiasts, temple volunteers and servitors. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)-run Jagannath temple Rath Yatra in Golmuri saw a small group of people turning up at the chariot-pulling event. “Although, chariot movement was confined to a 10-metre radius within the temple compound, the enthusiasm was the same,” Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Mahato, who attended the chariot-pulling event at the ISKCON temple, said.

Battleground Bengal: Not a Cakewalk for Modi or Mamata in Matua Land

This is not 2019 and this is not the Lok Sabha elections. And it’s not hunky dory for the BJP anymore. There is no apparent wave in its favour which will clean sweep all its opposition into the Bay of Bengal. Neither here in Bongaon, nor in the rest of the Bengal, though the BJP certainly has its share of committed, loyalist, or, silent and floating voters, including those who have been polarized, those who hate the Trinamool Congress for various reasons, and those who want some kind of change at the top. However, it is still not clear if that would help them cross the 100 mark in the 2021 assembly. Seasoned journalists say that even 80 could be tough.
