NEW DELHI: The histories of regions and states are part of the national narrative and no less important than the chronicles of empires that were based in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday while speaking on the diverse and comprehensive history of Odisha.
Speaking after he released the Hindi translation of ‘Odisha Itihaas’ written by the late Harekrishna Mahtab, the state s prime minister and then first chief minister, Modi said the saga of Odisha and its rich traditions that went back several centuries should reach all people in the country. Also present were Bhartruhari Mahtab, BJD MP and son of the late leader, and oil and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
