Detroit-born chef Max Hardy is food fighter

Maxcel Hardy doesn’t have a lower gear.  In the four years since the Detroit-born chef returned home from a high-flying career in Florida and New York, he has opened three restaurants, closed one and plans to open two more in the next year or so. Despite the drive and the prolific media appearances that have helped propel it including a nod as one of the New York Times’ 16 Black chefs changing food in America Hardy has never wavered in his commitment to community and feeding the hungry, long central to his work with his own One Chef Can 86 Hunger foundation.
