relatively safe ground for them to oppose the president. they are not opposing him on a hard line immigration stance. they are making a tax argument that it will hurt it is a tax hike and will hurt his constituents in key states. i agree with you. safe ground, but still notable. as you know, for two and a half years, pundits said, what will be the moment? was it charlottesville? no. the vile access hollywood tape? no. separating families at the border? nope. siding with vladimir putin in helsinki, no. it s tariffs. it s interesting because pundits have been wondering if there would be a moment and to see these republicans today saying this is a bridge too far is just noteworthy. it is noteworthy, but again your long list suggests why we should take this incident, too, with a grain of salt. listening to mitch mcconnell s remarks i m reminded of their comments during the shutdown when they were asked what the
