A KEY route into Southend town centre will be closed overnight from Monday as repair and resurfacing works get under way as part of continued essential maintenance of the A127. The stretch of road along Victoria Avenue - between Cuckoo Corner Roundabout and the traffic light junction between Carnarvon Road and Harcourt Avenue – is scheduled for repair and resurfacing works on both the Southend and London-bound carriageways. The work involves filling voids under the concrete carriageway, repairing the concrete and then resurfacing the carriageway. These works will start on the A127-bound carriageway from Monday (January 11) for a period of approximately two weeks, followed by a further two weeks of works on the Southend town centre-bound carriageway.
