MRC hears concerns about Hampden plantâs future
ELLSWORTH â Public comments at a March 25 board meeting of the Municipal Review Committee (MRC) aired concerns over how the former Coastal Resources of Maine solid waste processing facility in Hampden will operate once its purchase by Delta Thermo Energy Inc. is complete.
Board members had earlier announced a delay in closing on the purchase, originally scheduled for the end of March, as negotiations between the MRC, Delta Thermo and the facilityâs bondholders continue. The plant was placed in receivership in mid-2019. MRC Board President Karen Fussell said the sale to Delta Thermo would now take place in late May or June.
